Effective Thermal Management

Dodatki: Thermal Management, Encapsulation Resins

During use, some electronic components can generate significant amounts of heat. Failure to effectively dissipate this heat away from the component and the device can lead to reliability concerns and reduced operational lifetimes. Newton’s law of cooling states that the rate of loss of heat is proportional to the temperature difference between the body and its surroundings. Therefore, as the temperature of the component increases and reaches its equilibrium temperature, the rate of heat loss per second will equate to the heat produced per second within the component. This temperature may be high enough to significantly shorten the life of the component or even cause the device to fail. It is in such cases that thermal management measures need to be taken. The same considerations can be applied to a complete circuit or device which incorporates heat producing individual components. Więcej informacji >

Time for Change: New Products Reduce your Carbon Footprint and Tax

Dodatki: Maintenance and Service Aids, Environment

At the pinnacle of environmental concern is the emission of greenhouse gases and their immediate and long term effects on our planet. Over the years, many changes have taken place to ensure the products we use do not have a detrimental effect on the environment. With governments from around the world combining their efforts, legislations such as the Montreal and Kyoto Protocols have had an enormous impact; as well as significantly reducing environmentally hazardous pollutants they have also altered the way we think and work. Conformal Coating – Selection, Best Practice and Future Trends

Dodatki: Conformal Coatings

Conformal coatings are protective lacquers used within the electronics industry to protect printed circuit boards (PCBs) and eliminate failures caused by exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. Such conditions can include airborne ionic material, atmospheric moisture and the electrostatic attraction of dust. In more challenging environments however protection from chemicals, extreme humidity or even corrosive atmospheres, such as salt mist, may be required. The coatings are designed to ‘conform’ to the contours of the board, protecting all areas to which they are applied and thereby extended the working life of the PCB. Więcej informacji >
